Quang Nam strives to attract more Indian tourists

VOV.VN - Quang Nam province’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, working in co-ordination with the Vietnamese Consulate General in Mumbai, organised an event on September 14 to promote Vietnamese tourism in India.
A wide range of activities got underway as part of the occasion, including film screenings to introduce about traditional culture and history, an exhibition on Quang Nam province’s culture, tourism, and a space to display local products which meet the criteria of the One Commune, One Product (OCOP) programme.
In addition, business-to-business, also known as B2B, activities were organised for Indian travel firms, thereby offering a unique opportunity to explore tourism products and services in the nation.
Present the event were Harish Mathur, a representative of the Indian Association of Tour Operators, along with 120 representatives from travel agencies, airlines, press agencies, Indian filmmakers, and some Bollywood actors, along with Vietnamese tourism businesses operating in India.
Van Ba Son, deputy director of Quang Nam province’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism highlighted India as one of the most attractive tourism markets for Vietnam to target.
Figures indicate that Quang Nam welcomed 25,000 Indian arrivals in the first six months of the year, with India being the 10th largest tourism market in the period, he added.
Vietnam and India share plenty of similarities in culture, with India boasting a population in excess of one billion, making it a potentially-lucrative market for any country, including Vietnam.
