VOV.VN - Despite the cold and rainy weather, thousands of visitors flocked to the Yen Stream ferry terminal on February 3 to participate in the opening ceremony of the Chua Huong (Perfume Pagoda) Festival, one of the largest spring festivals for Buddhist pilgrims.
Perfume Pagoda is one of the famous Buddhist pilgrimage sites in Vietnam which is closely associated with the worship of Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara (Quan Am).
Many people believe that visiting the pagoda brings good luck, peace, prosperity, and especially blessings for love and children.
As the saying go “If you haven’t been to Perfume Pagoda, you haven’t truly experienced a spring festival”, reflecting its cultural importance.
The pagoda is located in the Huong Son (Perfume Mountain) Complex, offering stunning landscapes with majestic mountains and the serene Yen Stream.
Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen (right) presents the municipal administration’s decision to recognize the city-level tourist area for the Huong Son complex special national relic.
Venerable Thich Minh Hien, who presides over Huong Pagoda, gives the opening speech and organized the incense offering ceremony to pray for national peace and prosperity.
Unlike the previous festivals, this year, the organisers issue electronic tickets for sightseeing integrated with the use of boat transportation services, creating convenience and transparency in the service.
Ticket price including entrance fee and boat transportation service on Huong Tich route is VND230,000 for adults and VND65,000 for children.
The electronic ticket system allows for easy and fast control, reducing congestion, preventing counterfeit tickets, and enhancing the visitor experience.
The boat journey along the Yen Stream to the pagoda provides a peaceful and picturesque experience.
The festival is a time for people to meet, socialize, and share their prayers and happiness at the start of the year.
. For young people, it is also an opportunity to seek new relationships and expand their social contact.
With its combination of spirituality, culture, and breathtaking scenery, Huong pagoda remains one of Vietnam’s most visited pilgrimage sites, attracting millions of visitors every festival season. This year’s festival is set to last 90 days, from February 3 to May 4.
