VOV.VN - Phu Quoc island in the southern province of Kien Giang has been named among the Top 25 must-visit destinations for 2025, as compiled by Singapore-based multinational news channel Channel News Asia (CNA).
With numerous small islands, a 150-kilometre coastline, and an expansive national park, Phu Quoc represents the epitome of a tropical gem, said CNA.
It noted that Singaporean travelers now have even more reason to visit following Scoot Airlines launch ofdirect two-hour flights to Phu Quoc in December 2024.
Jo Hendry Prior, co-founder of Alchemist Travel – a company specialising in luxury travel experiences, highlighted Phu Quoc’s diverse accommodation options, ranging from budget-friendly stays to high-end five-star resorts lined along the beach, all of whichmake it an ideal getaway from Singapore.
Rounding off the Top 25 list are Amsterdam of the Netherlands, Rome of Italy, Koh Samui of Thailand, Osaka of Japan, Casablanca of Morocco, Antarctica, Greenland, Bordeaux of France, and Cario of Egypt.
Earlier, Phu Quoc was also honoured by a number of prestigious newspapers and magazines. It was the only Vietnamese destination to make the list of the top islands in the world according to the globally renowned travel magazine Condé Nast Traveler in its 2024 Readers' Choice Awards.
In July 2024, the World's Best Awards by the renowned travel magazine Travel + Leisure named Phu Quoc asthe second-best island in the world, following the Maldives.
Phu Quoc also made the list of the Top 10 best islands in Asia according to DestinAsian. Meanwhile, it was rated as a top beach destination of the last decade by the 'travel bible,' Lonely Planet, and was subsequently praised by the Republic of Korea's largest mainstream newspaper, the Chosun Ilbo, as a destination that satisfies all five senses.
