VOV.VN - Vietnamese people from across the country on July 8 paid tribute to late Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong at his hometown in Lai Da village and at his final resting place in Mai Dich Cemetery in Hanoi on his first death anniversary.
Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong passes away in Hanoi on July 19, 2024 at the age of 80. In the photo is the portrait of the late Party leader solemnly placed on an altar in Lai Da village of Hanoi's Dong Anh commune.
From early morning, people arrive in large numbers to light incense, offer flowers, and commemorate a leader revered for his lifelong dedication to the Party and the nation.
His portrait is placed on the worship altar adorned with lotus flowers symbolising purity and respect.
Many people from other provinces travel through hundreds of kilometres to pay tribute to the late Party chief in his hometown.
Nguyen Thi Phong travels a long way from Tay Ninh province to Hanoi to offer incense to the late Party General Secretary.
