Party and State leaders pay tribute to late President Ho Chi Minh

VOV.VN - A delegation made up of the Party Central Committee, the President, the National Assembly, the Government, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee laid wreaths and paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum in Hanoi on August 31 to mark the occasion of the 78th National Day on September 2.
The delegation pay respect to President Ho Chi Minh, both a genius leader and a national hero who devoted his entire life to the Vietnamese cause, country, and citizens, leading the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Vietnamese people to glorious victories.
Joining the delegation are President Vo Van Thuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and National Assembly (NA) Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue. Former Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh, former President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, and former NA Chairperson Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan also attend the ceremony.
Amid a solemn atmosphere, the leaders respectfully remember the merits of President Ho Chi Minh and those who sacrificed themselves for the cause of national liberation and national reunification, as well as fulfilling socialism and noble international obligations.
On the morning of the same day, delegations from the Central Military Commission under the Ministry of National Defence; the Central Public Security Party Committee under the Ministry of Public Security; and the municipal Party Committee, People’s Council, and People’s Committee of Hanoi also lay wreaths in tribute to President Ho Chi Minh.
On September 2, 1945, at Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi, President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, thereby declaring the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
