VOV.VN - The first rehearsal for a large-scale military parade and civic procession marking the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2, 1945 – 2025) took place at Mieu Mon National Training Centre No. 4 in Hanoi on June 25.
This marks the first in-person joint rehearsal in preparation for the National Day celebration.
The main rehearsal site at Mieu Mon Training Centre is connected virtually to two additional locations: the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism and Vietnam National University, Hanoi, allowing for coordinated participation across venues.
From early morning, all parade units assemble at Mieu Mon to participate in the joint rehearsal, fine-tuning formations and marching sequences.
Compared to the parade held for the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30), the formation for the 80th National Day celebration sees the number of soldiers per horizontal row increase from 10 to 16, enhancing the visual impact.
Female military medical officers are present at the rehearsal. During the wars, they played a critical role in protecting the health of soldiers and wounded combatants, and supported civilians in war-torn areas.
A contingent of female military band members takes part in the rehearsal, contributing to the ceremonial atmosphere.
The rehearsal also features female special forces soldiers, highlighting the strength and diversity of Vietnam’s armed forces.
Female Vietnamese officers serving in UN peacekeeping missions, a symbol of Vietnam's growing international role, are also part of the formation.
Female signal officers, who ensured secure and uninterrupted communications between command units during wartime, join the parade.
A unit of female self-defense militia participates in the rehearsal, demonstrating grassroots involvement in national defence.
Also present is a female guerrilla unit from the South, representing resilience and dedication during the resistance wars.
The grand celebration for Vietnam’s 80th National Day will take place on September 2 at Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi, featuring a large-scale military parade with the participation of thousands.
