VOV.VN - The 19th National Press Awards Ceremony was solemnly held on June 21 in Hanoi, honoring 128 outstanding journalistic works, including 13 first, 27 second, 49 third and 39 consolation prizes.

While presenting the First Prize and delivering remarks at the ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh acknowledged and appreciated the tremendous contributions of media agencies, veteran journalists, and generations of media professionals to the revolutionary cause of the nation. He also pays deep tribute to those who dedicated, and even sacrificed their lives for the cause of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism.
From nearly 2,000 submissions, the judging panel shortlists 183 entries in the preliminary round before selecting 128 outstanding journalistic works for awards, including 13 first prizes, 27 second prizes, 49 third prizes, and 39 consolation prizes.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh presents a first prize to the author group from VOV National Traffic chanel for their five-part investigative series titled “Throwing Billions onto the Road.”
Lai Xuan Mon, Member of the Party Central Committee and Permanent Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Information, Communication and Mass Mobilization, and Le Quoc Minh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Commission, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, and President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, present second prizes to individual and group awardees.
Do Tien Sy, Member of the Party Central Committee and President the Voice of Vietnam, and Hoang Trung Dung, Member of the Party Central Committee and Editor-in-Chief of Communist Review, present third prizes to the winning authors.
Le Hai Binh, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Vu Viet Trang, General Director of the Vietnam News Agency, present third prizes to the winning authors and groups.
Pham Manh Hung, Deputy General Director of the Voice of Vietnam, presents consolation prizes at the National Press Awards.
