VOV.VN - Ornamental and fresh flowers from many parts of the country have been transported in large volumes to Ho Chi Minh City as part of efforts to meet the demand of city dwellers to celebrate the upcoming Lunar New Year, known locally as Tet.

These days, along both big and small streets in the areas of Le Van Tam Park in District 1, Gia Dinh Park in Phu Nhuan district, and Binh Dong Wharf in District 8, it is not difficult to see many kinds of blooming flowers.

Unlike in previous years, although flower sellers offer attractive prices, there are not as many customers coming to purchase them as expected.

According to flower traders, this year sees the prices of different kinds of flowers drop by 20% compared to the previous year.

They noted that current purchasing power during the period remains relatively low.

Presently, a pot of chrysanthemums is priced at VND3 million to VND5 million, while a branch of the peach is around VND250,000.

Delivery men are bust loading the flower pots onto their vehicles in order to hand over to their customers.
