The national team were deducted a total of 11.65 points and dropped from 34th place in the previous rankings due to the team's poor performance at the 19th Asian Games (ASIAD 19) and in the qualifiers for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

This year has witnessed an important milestone for the national squad as they successfully qualified for the FIFA Women's World Cup for the first time. Their performance at the international tournament won the hearts of Vietnamese fans everywhere and impressed the world’s media.

The Vietnamese women’s team were still able to maintain their top position in Southeast Asia, followed by the Philippines at 38th in the world and Thailand at 48th in the globe.

In terms of Asia as a whole, Vietnam were sixth, trailing behind powerhouses such as Japan in first place, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), Australia, China, and the Republic of Korea at second, third, fourth, and fifth, respectively.

Elsewhere, Spain retained the top spot globally, followed by the United States in second and France in third. England moved into fourth, while Sweden dropped to fifth to complete the top five.
