Lebanon likely to miss friendly matches in Vietnam

VOV.VN - Lebanon may not take part in friendly matches against Vietnam and India during the upcoming FIFA Days in October, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) revealed on October 3.

According to the VFF’s statement, the Lebanese Football Association (LFA) shared that they have met several difficulties regarding flight arrangements.

However, the VFF is still in touch with the LFA to find a suitable solution. They are also preparing a plan to invite another team in order to replace Lebanon in the event that they are unable to arrive in Vietnam.

FIFA Days are officially counted from October 7 to October 15. Due to this tight timeframe, the Vietnamese team may have only play one friendly match against India on this occasion.

As scheduled, Vietnam will take on India on October 9 and Lebanon six days later, while India will encounter Lebanon on October 12. All of the matches will take place at 6p.m. at the Thien Truong Stadium in the northern province of Nam Dinh.

The fixtures will serve as a warm-up for Vietnam ahead of the ASEAN Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2024 which is due to begin on December 8. The national team will gather together on October 5 after Round 4 of the LPBank V.League 1 concludes.
