VOV.VN - The Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) in Vietnam on September 25 launched this year’s tourism promotion campaign themed “Japan - Local Experience, Diverse Discovery” in an attempt to attract more Vietnamese travellers to the country of the rising sun.

A video clip has been produced and released in a bid to accelerate this year's Japan tourism promotion drive, starting with a trip to Izumo Taisha Shrine known as the land of myths, gods, and sunsets. Afterwards, visitors can admire the impressive craftsmanship of artisans, stroll through charming towns that still retain the essence of the Edo period, and explore unique Japanese gardens.

Most notably, JNTO has encouraged Vietnamese tourists to choose Chugoku as a new tourist destination as the site allows visitors to explore the Bizen Osafune Sword Museum and the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter in Okayama Prefecture, as well as the Adachi Museum of Art in Shimane Prefecture.

Starting from May 12, VietJet Air has begun operating direct flights between Hanoi and Hiroshima Prefecture, making it easier for visitors to access Hiroshima Prefecture and other localities in the Chugoku region.

Statistics compiled by JNTO indicate that the number of Vietnamese visitors to the Far East nation in August reached 52,400, bringing the eight-month number up to 434,000, a rise of 19.9% against the same period from 2019 and an increase of 2.9% against the same period last year.

With the current growth momentum, the number of Vietnamese visitors to Japan is anticipated to reach an all-time high from now until the end of the year.
