Hanoi prepares for grand fireworks on Lunar New Year's Eve

VOV.VN - Soldiers have made final preparations for a series of firework shows which will be held at 32 venues across the capital on February 10, which will be the Lunar New Year’s Eve.
Soldiers are present at Thong Nhat (Reunification) Park in Hai Ba Trung district of Hanoi from early morning on February 9, or the 30th day of the last lunar month, as they prepare to put on a firework show on Lunar New Year's Eve.
Soldiers have made thorough preparations in various techniques, with the aim to leave a lasting impression on spectators.
The fireworks are due to last for 15 minutes from midnight.
High-altitude fireworks will be displayed at nine venues across the capital, including the Hanoi Post Office and the Hanoi Moi newspaper headquarters in Hoan Kiem district, the Lac Long Quan Garden in Tay Ho district, the F1 Hanoi Circuit in Nam Tu Liem district, Thong Nhat Park in Hai Ba Trung district, Van Quan Lake in Ha Dong district, Son Tay citadel in Son Tay district, Tam Hiep lake in Thanh Tri district, and Dong Anh Sports Centre in Dong Anh district.
The 23 points for lower-range fireworks will be located in the remaining 23 districts and towns, as decided upon by local authorities.
The Hanoi People's Committee urges localities to ensure strict security and safety measures both at and around fireworks sites in the capital.
The Lunar New Year, known locally as Tet, is the country’s largest annual festival. Vietnamese employees usually take a seven-day Tet holiday starting from February 8 to February 14.
