VOV.VN - As part of National Day (Setempber 2) and the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution celebrations, Hanoi has welcomed a delegation of international media, including foreign correspondents and overseas Vietnamese journalists, to highlight the city’s tourism attractions.

The program was jointly organised by the Department of Press and Information under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Hanoi’s Department of Tourism.

At Duong Lam ancient village, journalists visited communal houses, temples, pagodas, and centuries-old residences, while learning about local customs and traditional crafts. They also toured Bat Trang pottery village and other notable sites across the capital, experiencing Hanoi’s blend of historic charm and modern development.

Joshua Levine, a US journalist, praised Hanoi’s diversity of attractions, noting the city’s growth alongside its cultural and artisanal heritage. He added that the locals’ pride in their homeland was clearly evident. After the National Day events, he plans to continue exploring Hanoi and nearby destinations such as Ninh Binh and Cao Bang.

According to Tran Trung Hieu, deputy director of Hanoi’s Department of Tourism, the initiative aims to strengthen Hanoi’s unique tourism brand, highlighting its thousand-year culture and recognition as a City for Peace, thereby attracting visitors worldwide. The delegation’s experiences and coverage are expected to introduce Vietnam’s landscapes and people internationally while contributing feedback to enhance the city’s tourism quality.

Hanoi’s tourism sector has shown significant growth and aims to welcome eight million visitors this year. Hosting the media delegation is seen as an opportunity to further promote the capital’s rich cultural heritage to the world.
