VOV.VN - A range of cultural and art activities are taking place throughout the capital to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the capital’s liberation, which occurred on October 10, 1954.
An exhibition on the economic, cultural, and social achievements of the capital city after 70 years of construction and development opens on October 4 at the Hanoi Museum.
This large-scale exhibition is displayed on an area of 2,500 square metres inside the Hanoi Museum from October 4 to October 14.
The exhibition showcases a total of 500 photographs, drawings, documents, and artifacts detailing the capital during a 70-year period.
One exhibition, titled Ký Ức Hà Nội – 70 Năm (Hanoi Memories – 70 Years), depicts the capital during the nationwide resistance period of the military and citizens, leading up to the day the capital was taken over. This is being shown at the Phung Hung mural space.
These activities aim to enhancing the knowledge among locals and tourists of one of the most significant victories in the nation’s history, as well as further inspiring patriotism among the younger generation.

A large-sized banner can be seen next to the banks of Ho Guom, also known as Sword lake, in order to mark the capital’s great day.
The headquarters of the Hanoi administration are well decorated in celebration of Liberation Day.
Plenty of national flags, banners, and slogans adorn Trang Tien street leading towards August Revolution Square in Hoan Kiem district in the heart of the capital.
