VOV.VN - The Hue Monuments Conservation Center has launched a green and environmentally friendly tour in the area of King Gia Long's mausoleum in Huong Tho commune in the central city of Hue.

King Gia Long's mausoleum is a destination within the Hue Imperial Monument complex which was recognised by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage.

The opening of the green tour has contributed to diversifying tourism products and services in a bid to develop the local tourism industry in a green, quality, sustainable, and smart manner.

Currently, the space at King Gia Long’s mausoleum area is covered with diverse trees and lakes which are suitable for building a green heritage destination.

At the initial stage, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center will invest in nearly 80 environmentally friendly vehicles such as bicycles and electric vehicles, as well as planting 40 trees every year with the aim of fulfilling Vietnamese commitments made at the UN-Climate Change Conference (COP26) in the UK on reducing emissions and eliminating coal power generation by 2040, as well as ending deforestation by 2030.

Le Cong Son, deputy director of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center, emphasised that the locality is keen to introduce the use of green, smart, and sustainable tourism through electric vehicles in order to provide visitors with the opportunity to experience cultural relics and beautiful landscapes.
