VOV.VN - The former imperial city of Hue has marked the start of the 2024 Lunar New Year, known locally as Tet, the Year of the Dragon, with the re-enactment of a Neu (bamboo) pole erecting ceremony once held by the Nguyen Dynasty (1802-1945) in Hue.

According to the Hue Monuments Conservation Centre, in the old days dynastic kings allowed the erecting of Neu poles in several places in the former citadel in order to mark Tet on the 23rd day of the last lunar month of the year.
