VOV.VN - The Vietnamese capital is a whirlwind of sights, sounds, and flavours, whether travelers are visiting for the first time or the 10th, Hanoi will always be an incredible place to visit, offering a true taste of the nation.

According to world’s famous travel website Travel2next, the capital is home to some of the country’s best sights, such as the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Opera House, the Temple of Literature, and Hoa Lo Prison. All of these combine with the area’s incredible local food and coffee scene, eclectic nightlife, and hospitable culture.

Author Jayne Trainor mentioned the Old Quarter as the first destination to visit in Hanoi. The place, also known as Hoan Kiem due to the famous lake next, is one of the most popular and exciting places to stay whilst visiting the capital.

Evenings bring with it loud music, buzzing bars, clubs, and hundreds of people in the streets, many of which are now pedestrianised on weekends. For travelers needing a quiet night’s sleep, opting for a hotel over a hostel is a wise decision, it wrote.

Situated in the north of Hanoi, Tay Ho is a modern and fun neighbourhood boasting amazing lakeside views, thanks to being home to one of Hanoi’s largest lakes, Ho Tay, also known as West Lake, the article noted.

The next destination is Ba Dinh district which is home to many of Hanoi’s best sights, important political and historic buildings, and plenty of shops and restaurants catering to visitors.

Brimming with some of the city’s most famous attractions, such as the Presidential Palace, One Pillar Pagoda, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, and plenty of museums, travelers can walk almost everywhere, the Trainor added.

A super central neighbourhood located right next to the Old Quarter, Hai Ba Trung is hip, modern, and bursting with the city’s best shops and restaurants.

Travel2next recommended that Hai Ba Trung is renowned in particular for its food offerings, which range from street food stalls to hole-in-the-wall gems and busy, and modern restaurants where travelers can find affordable classics like pho, banh mi, and bun cha.

Meanwhile Truc Bach is a quiet and peaceful neighbourhood where once can escape the intensity and chaos of central Hanoi.

Located on the edge of Truc Bach Lake, the area is ideal for families and those who don’t mind not being in the centre of the action.

Tran Quoc Pagoda also sits on the lake and is one of the main attractions of the area, dating back to the 18th century.

Travelers can also take boats out on the lake, try local treats at Chau Long Market, or simply enjoy a sweet cup of egg coffee in one of the many nearby cafes.

After a day of adventure, Truc Bach is a lovely place to return to sample delicious local cuisine and enjoy a laid-back atmosphere, the travel website concluded.
