VOV.VN - The number of international flights to the central city of Da Nang is expected to rise sharply over the next three months, with flights from the Republic of Korea (RoK) accounting for roughly 35% of the total, according to the city’s airport authorities.
Da Nang International Airport reported that the 2025 winter flight schedule will bring a significant increase in traffic from late October 2025 to the end of March 2026, with the terminal handling over 21,000 flights during this period. In November and December alone, the airport is expected to receive an average of 140 international flights per day.
February 2026 is projected to be the peak period, with daily flight numbers reaching 142, compared with approximately 120 flights per day at the end of October. The spike coincides with the Lunar New Year travel season, during which routes connecting Da Nang with the RoK, China, Taiwan, Singapore, and other key markets traditionally experience strong demand.
Notably, many airlines also announced increased winter frequencies. Cebu Air of the Philippines, Eva Air of Taiwan (China) and Eastar Jet of RoK will raise their weekly flights from seven to around ten, while Myanmar Airways International will double its operations from two to four flights per week. Korean Air will expand from 14 to 21 weekly flights, and Philippines Air from three to seven.
Air Busan and Hong Kong Airlines are among the fastest-growing carriers this season, each doubling service from 7 to 14 flights per week.
According to the Da Nang’s tourism authorities, the number of international arrivals is expected to surpass 8.9 million in 2026, up 17% compared with 2025. The Korean and Taiwanese markets are forecast to remain stable, while Japanese and Chinese arrivals are projected to grow 5–10%. The Indian market is expected to expand by 10–20%, and Southeast Asian markets, particularly the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore, could rise by 15–30%.
