VOV.VN - The Lồng Tồng (Going to the field) festival was held in Bach Thong district of Bac Kan province on February 17, attracting many residents and tourists who came to pray for a year of peace.
The Lồng Tồng (Going to the field) festival opens with a solemn ritual held in Slan Slanh temple which worships a general who helps local people protect their village against invaders.
The festival is held annually on the 20th day of the first lunar month and aims to show gratitude to the general whilst praying for a year of peace.
During the course of the festival, cultural and sporting activities also take place.
The highlight is an art performance put on by 120 Tay ethnic artists.
Tay, Nung, and Dao ethnic groups introduce traditional costumes as part of the occasion.
The event draws plenty of attention from both locals and tourists.
Besides locals and tourists have the chance to participate in a range of folk games, including tug-of-war.
