VOV.VN - Paper-making is a unique traditional craft practiced by the Red Dao ethnic minority people residing in Nguyen Binh district in the northern mountainous province of Cao Bang.
The majority of households are engaged in the paper making craft in Cao Bang province.
The main materials used to make paper are bamboo trees.
The entire manual process of making paper is conducted by women.
Young bamboo trees are soaked in water, pounded, and then crushed into pulp before being mixed with resin of several other plants in the forest to form paper sheets, then drying them.
Paper sheets are pressed before drying amid the open air.
Drying them out under the sunlight is then done to make them both durable and firm.
