VOV.VN - An increasing number of tourists have taken a trip to the northern mountainous province of Cao Bang in recent times to take part in tours of Ban Gioc-Detian waterfall on the Vietnam-China border.
The northern mountainous province of Cao Bang launches tours of Ban Gioc-Detian waterfall on the Vietnam-China border, starting from September 15, 2023.
Straddling both nations, Ban Gioc waterfall astounds with its layered beauty with its cascades harmoniously blending amidst breathtaking surroundings.
Located in Dam Thuy commune of Trung Khanh district in Cao Bang province, Ban Gioc waterfall consists of two parts, with the main part located in the middle of the Vietnam-China border and delimited by the Quay Son river flowing below.
The main waterfall stretches for about 100 metres wide, 70 metres high and 60 metres deep. From a distance, it looks like a white silk strip across the mountains and forests, thereby creating a charming scene.

After six months of pilot operation for tourists, the site has welcomed nearly 6,000 visitors, of which tourists from Vietnam to China account for about 60%.
The best time to visit Ban Gioc Waterfalls is during the rainy season between May and September when the site is at its most impressive.
Many art programmes are held to help tourists explore the culture of local people in the border area.
Ban Gioc waterfall is one of the most majestic and beautiful waterfalls throughout the country, providing many favourite check-in spots for tourists.
Hoang Thi Du from Lang Son province shares that the place boasts many beautiful backgrounds which are perfect for photos.
From the Vietnamese side, a tour package to discover Ban Gioc-Detian waterfalls costs VND790,000 per person.
From April, tourists from Vietnam are allowed to visit the glass bridge area of Detian waterfall.
In order to get to the glass bridge, visitors can choose to walk or use the “Thảm thần kỳ” (Magic Carpet) service at a price of VND350,000 per person.
Each tourist spends a total of 15 minutes traveling on the 416-metre route to the glass bridge.
This is also a wonderful experience to conclude the six-hour journey to visit the sightseeing spot.
The tour is expected to become an eco-friendly cross-border tourism model between Vietnam and China.
