VOV.VN - Australia’s tourism newswire Escape recently published an article aimed at introducing information about five stunning parks worth visiting in Vietnam, with these locations being places tourists can relax before tackling their next urban adventure.
APEC Sculpture Park in Da Nang was previously home to 18 sculptures over a space spanning 3000sqm which was set up for the central city’s 2017 APEC summit. After the summit, it was decided to turn the park into a permanent tourist attraction, pouring US$55 million into the site and expanding its area to 8,600sqm.
According to Australian writer Ronan O'Connell, many people enjoy posing in front of the park’s main attraction, its unique photogenic dome, the perforated roof of which resembles a giant kite. This striking design, coupled with the unique way that sunlight filters through it, has made this structure a social media hotspot.
The part around Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi is considered a great place for tourists to enjoy peace. In addition, the two metre-long creature called Cu Rua is a curious attraction which can be found at Hanoi’s historic Ngoc Son Temple, which boasts a memorable location on an island in Hoan Kiem Lake Park.
The website also recommended a trip to Thanh Ha Terracotta Park in Hoi An. The impressive pottery found at the park ranges from miniature replicas of iconic buildings to depictions of Vietnamese deities, demons, and royalty. Each piece is carefully crafted locally and in traditional fashion.
“In Thanh Ha Pottery Village, which surrounds the park, I watched artisans hand-shaping ceramics on a pottery wheel and then baking them in a wood-fired kiln,” author O'Connell wrote.
Furthermore, travelers should not miss out on visiting February 3 Park in Thua Thien-Hue province. Covering a total of 300 square metres, the park’s monuments and sculptures mark the bloodiest day of the battle. Their aim is to ensure locals and visitors never forget or underestimate the futile destruction of war.
Tao Dan Park in Ho Chi Minh City is the final among the five most stunning parks in Vietnam. About 400sqm, it’s small by Australian standards, yet it is still the largest green space in the downtown area of the southern city.
The park’s canopy is unusually lofty, due to hundreds of evergreen trees, some of which stand at more than 20 metres tall.
The area’s gardens are decorated by a colourful array of blossoms and hosts several annual flower festivals, the largest of which coincides with the Vietnamese New Year, the Australian website noted.
